I've got a trans going south in my 98 Ranger 2. I've got a trans going south in my 98 Ranger 2. Took car to dealer and they said transmission was bad. The dealer said there was nothing they were going to do about it. I believe this is a defect in the transmission from what I have read. The main concern that I have with this 'fix' is that it will be replaced with the same model of transmission and that the problem will occur again in 30-40,000 miles. I've read so many conflicting statements on this.
She has talked to Consumer Affairs at Ford. I thought maybe I had hit the accelerator by accident and had a co-worker watch as I cranked up the truck in neutral. Is your abs light on? He advised that they can tear it down for 350. The dealer stated that the speed control recall repair was not the cause of the transmission failure. Thanks for the help Yes, the speedo works fine. No matter your situation, low credit high credit, good credit.
I would highly recommend Wholesale direct motors and will continue to come here for my automotive needs. I am pretty sure you can not put a Tranny from a 3. I have owned this vehicle from new and now just outside of warranty based on mileage, the transmission is needing rebuilding or replacement. I did screw up and put on new tires with Only a 2 ply sidewall. This versatile yet small truck still drives strong after 12 years of everyday driving in the city, on the highway and off-road in the woods in North Idaho. Vehicle was purchased in August of 2001. There was a tsb message put out about this trouble in may of 01, so Ford knows there is a problem. And there was one engine code, dealing with air flow, but that was taken care of. I couldn't be happier with my Liberty!! I have owned this vehicle from new and now just outside of warranty based on mileage, the transmission is needing rebuilding or replacement. I took this vehicle to a local Ford dealership where they indicated that the obdii system was registering 3 different codes having to do with the powertrain system. I contacted Ford, and spoke to heather, and needless to say she said that it was only my that has the issue with the transmission no one else does.
If it's only 20 bucks, I would be more than willing to see about changing it to see what happens. After about a week in the shop and torn apart they called and told me the warranty co. I had the clutch rebuilt at 200,000 miles and at that time I had the water pump replaced. I had no idea in what that meant. Thank you for everything Ron you are amazing. So I took it and got 2 more inquiries, and 1 from a dealership. I had to do that work becuase this truck can rally on the backroads! I dont think I can take this truck breaking down all the time for to much longer.
I just feel great in this truck and it makes me happy. I never once chased gremlins nor was it always in and out of the shop. I've found what could be a great deal on a trans, but I don't know if it'll work. The reason I am balkng on the tranny is because you have no tranny codes. All the same 3 rd gear trouble.
The trans fluid is fine, right where it should be on the stick. Been a auto tech for Ford for many years its time to have Ford look at the on going problems. He was very patient and kind with me and answered all my questions. Have you check for engine codes? According to the service technician who was working on the vehicle there is a tbs for the code P0733 registering. The second transmission was rebuilt. No special operating conditions have existed for this vehicle I. Even once it's warm, whenever you stop, it's the same thing, you need to rev the engine up to get the trans to grab.
Overdrive light flashes as soon as it slams into gear ,trans slip. I contacted Ford, and spoke to heather, and needless to say she said that it was only my that has the issue with the transmission no one else does. That's why I'm coming here to try to get all the info and advice I can. I was not sure what that was. When it's cold, the trans won't engage without revving a little to bring the rpm up. I have had the transmission serviced several times and had the following repairs performed: 1. I was surprised, and the truck is very well kept up.
If you really think about it. Iam in a rental car more then in my truck. They said they will not be able to know the whole damage until they take it apart. If it's only 20 bucks, I would be more than willing to see about changing it to see what happens. No special operating conditions have existed for this vehicle I.
I have asked the dealer to replace them to no evail. Vehicle has a non-serviceable transmission cooler. He guided me through the process and helped ensure that I got the car that I wanted. I had no idea in what that meant. The truck was having trouble going past 10-15 mph before shifting gears and was going much slower than normal. I just wish I had the 4. Thanks for any and all help you can offer! I placed a call to Ford motor company's customer relations and they are 'researching' possibilities of financial assistance to repair this issue.
