The 24-inch long adjustable urethane bushed 4-link bars that attach to the outside of the rails make a more exhaust friendly chassis. Just don't want to take the chance. This will tighten up the joint substantially. On the later model booster I had to drill two new holes on the mount and drill a new hole on the break pedal for proper linkage. We offer adjustable aluminum coilover shocks that are available with adjustable rebound or adjustable compression with one-knob or a two-knob adjustable model: one knob for rebound and one knob for compression or a single-knob: rebound only style or the non-adjustable coilover. I measured the rear end on my 67 and that of a 70+, and the 70+ is 3 inches wider. Looking into the back of the '67-72 Chevelle spindles, reveals the Jim Meyer beefy 1-inch thick bolt on steering arms that replace the stock front-steer arms.
Yes I know it has been a while since the last post. I have read that a lot of people change the entire front saddle on the truck. So here are some photos. Next, the bed is removed. Cab literally bolted right on with no modification.
Things have been really busy lately, I haven't had time to get much done. Combine these steps over the suspension with ShockWave bags and you're on the ground. It is going to be a RestoMod, or Muscle Truck. I have obviously lately decided that Nacho is going to maintain his patina. We use the '67-72 Chevelle spindle with bolt-on steering arms, rotors and calipers. Not sure if that is totally accurate but oh well.
And who knows, that clapped out farm truck down the road might just be the best option for your next classic truck project. I still work on my truck a little at a time at the expense of other things in my life. So yeah, I suck at updating things. So just last weekend I finally decided to do something about that brand new bumper that I had bought and painted black for my old truck that is no longer around. Before we do so, however, a series of six pilot holes need to be drilled into each framerail. It is going in Project 54'.
If you want to convert to disc and keep your 6 bolt pattern, 1969 is the year to find. So the progress is, I finally got some time to get the tires mounted on the rims last weekend. The cab mount is then bolted in place using these new holes and then used as a template for the rear pair. Yes that's right, I have another project. You can use the 4-link kit or trailing arms with this. This chassis features the optional power Mustang rack that bolts in the same mounts as the standard manual rack. The 1-inch diameter optional antisway bar is a must-have item if you want flat cornering and a great handling pickup.
I already had new A arm bushings installed so I wanted to keep them. Remember, all of our chassis have an adjustable stance in the front-and-rear about 4-inches. A few weeks ago I picked up a motor for Nacho. An exterior doubler-plate is always used to reinforce this grafted connection. So with it I did some work on a support on the cab on my drivers side. It is going on a 89' S10 chassis.
The three-hole style is our Street Rod Style mount and the multi-hole style is our Drag Racing Style mount. Cant recall seeing it done yet, but I know of a guy that put a 72 Ford body onto a 2002 F-150 frame. On my conversion I also went from 6 bolt pattern wheels to the common 5 on 5 pattern. I think it looks pretty good. With the amount of sheetmetal components being reproduced today, a new short bed is simply a phone call away.
This will give a much lower stance. These will serve as mounting points for the C-channel inner brace. At the front of the chassis, the optional rounded frame horns will accept stock bumper brackets. So that means that I am going to have to convert the truck to an automatic. You can convert a long bed to a short bed or use on a short bed to raise the rear rails.
Before the bed is set in place, we slid the new, shorter brake line between the rails and snugged up the fittings. Not really sure how I am going to be able to get it home but I'll figure that out. All of our pickup chassis feature 1-inch diameter X. We offer two different styles of rear lower coilover shock mounts or ShockWave air suspension mounts. So I have floor panels and I have new rockers and I find that I am going to have to get some more small panels after looking a little closer and taking off the old rockers. The templates are designed to bolt to the chassis using existing holes labeled 1 , removing any guesswork when it comes time to make the cut.
