The original has that legendary moment that made people jump from their seats while the people who made this botched that opportunity because of a completely awful editing cut. Pointless nudity + pointless sex + blood-o-rama +cheap scares. I can't bring him back, but maybe I could do the opposite and virtualize someone inside of the Skid?! Once Betsy appears on screen the film is thrilling and she adds a lot of life no pun intended to the whole proceeding, which was lacking from a good part of the film. If you've never seen this film, or it's been a while since you've seen it, then do yourself a favor and check it out. I also love the direction in which they take the character of Tommy Jarvis, having all these mental problems thanks to Mr.
I love this film, and as far as I'm concerned, it's the best of this series. Don't worry about me, Ulrich! The way the story unfolds, it is only the frantic ramblings of a few characters that claim a threat, which allows the others to wander to their bloody demises. To get the most out of the film you have to watch it uncut. They know the effectiveness of an expressionless mask, so why not be a little more creative here? The legend proves horribly true, as these campers quickly discover. In this case, promiscuity is punished because Jason supposedly drowned because the counselors who were supposed to be watching him were making out when he was screaming for help. Why am I wasting more time on a bad review? I better go upstairs and see what that is! The thing that helps this movie escape the treacherous realms of the sophomore effort is that it presents the story so well.
As I said, we can't. I think the kills in this film are some of the most original in the series, not to mention some of the best. I'm not at all saying that Friday the 13th is a terrible film or not even worth a watch but - let's face it - the plot idea is pretty dumb, the acting and directing are far below average and they haven't fully used the options of setting and location they had. The good news is: if I dive, at least it will be my last unlucky day! And what a sight that is!! Years have passed since young Jason drowned at Camp Crystal lake, and the rein of Pamela Voorhees Nana Visitor in a cameo has been cut short pun intended. I give this movie a 8 out of 10.
It all leads up to an ending that fails just as badly as the rest of the movie. And let's not forget the good score. With only about a million dollars to use, he created a frightening and more than profitable film which set the table for many more down the road. I try my best to make up with Samantha, and whenever I'm close to her, boom! Six months later, the brother of one of those campers distributes posters of his missing sister. The killings soon take place inside the mental hospital and Tommy is nowhere to be seen, Reggie and Pam are the only ones there and find themselves being chased by the killer who could be Tommy or the real Jason or maybe someone else. This is a very good horror film. The cameos are the real scene stealers including a gas station attendant and a man named Donnie.
For example when a chase scene occurs, the music may speed up, the tempo rising and jittering, almost moving like the characters on screen are. As we have a bit of time, where's Yumi with my roses? A group of young adults discover a boarded up Camp Crystal Lake, where they soon encounter Jason Voorhees and his deadly intentions. It's too much set up for Jason honestly. The cast was also bad. Has its share of sex drugs and blood easy to follow with a great opening.
Why does Jason pop out of the lake at the end with his mask on? They were counting their money while that cult icon drowned. The man responsible had a perfectly simple and plain motive, revenge. But then Jason came back, and now he is a vengeful and inexorable killer, wielding crossbows, swords, axes and other sharp instruments. Everything is back to normal! And he especially kills if you impersonate his mother. Lot's of big haired women topless? Watch it and laugh, preferably with some friends.
The slasher film was part of the American horror film genre and it would remain that way for years to come. It has everything that the other sequels failed to capture. So I'm sad to say, but in my estimation, this was sloppy, irritating and pretty much just plain boring and tiresome. I didn't expect much of anything other than a few memorable kills and maybe a cheap jump scare here and there. Of course I was bothered by the fact that Marcus Nispel, who did such a smash up job on Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake, was directing. I'm sure I'll get lucky! Steve Miner didn't mess around too much with Sean Cunninham's successful formula simply adding some quite inventive kills and bloodletting. For starters, I personally can't stand how recent horror movies are shot.
And what about you, Yumi? How did he keep the rats from eating his mother's head? The black guy had a slight variation though since he's black. It's not the effects or the blood necessarily, it's the atmosphere and the familiarity that bring it home. Very effective even if it sometimes sounds derivative. Aside from the Jason overhaul, who can run, jump and kill with the best of them, I enjoyed how the director managed to make the characters do stupid things, without making the characters themselves seem equally idiotic. Dayum I need to go up doz! Friday the 13th part 2 is a great horror film and is the best in the series.
Fans of the series should at least be content with the latest offering, but really there is nothing new enough to become ecstatic about. But luckily he's soon back on his feet even after almost being cut completely in half with a weak swing of a machete goring people with big scary knives and reminding us of the dangers of messing with him. Overall it's not that bad. A fat patient named Joey Dominick Brasca who annoys the other patients and one of them named Vic Mark Venturni hacks him up then gets arrested. A uncut D American version. In general, horror series like the seemingly endless Friday the 13th series are composed of one hugely successful original film generally, by today's standards, inexplicably so, despite the abysmal standards of today followed by a lot of stomach-turningly awful sequels that try in vain to recapture the success of the original film.
Why do all the locals of Crystal Lake appear to have come from Texas? Funny how he kills everyone but his son's killer, but I'm sure he couldn't get to him with the authorities taking him into custody. In fact the scenery may have appeared New Englandish. You see Friday the 13th was my favorite movie. From the quirky halfway house residents to the crazed backwoods hicks, to the wacky Demon, this film's characters are very entertaining, and on many occasions, quite amusing. Of coarse there' no rhyme or reason to Jason's return from the grave, but they never had on in the original either.
